This is a prototype for the CONTEST: "The Future 2124"
This is my attempt to completely transform the html game engine "Twine, Sugarcube2" Into a html visual novel using only javascript without directly changing css or using inbuild twine or sugarcube2 macros.

I'm aware that in some computers, depending on what the path to the images are configures, the game might not run.

Will update later when more content is on the game, for now its just a concept.

Before I get started, I have to point out that this game is inappropriately rated, The PG rating specifically says no nudity. This game should clearly be rated R based on current content.

As for the game itself, I like it so far, but with caveats. Thr art is great despite being AI generated. I feel immersed in the world because of the backgrounds. Jack's art is expressive and feels high quality. Although I am not personally a fan of nudity, it isn't a deal breaker. Although, I hope to eventually see a censored version become available.

The current writing is of a better quality than most games on this site, which is nice. Jack is clearly made to be insufferable be design, however I can clearly see a path for character growth. Still, I wish we could've seen at least on redeeming quality hinted at during the prologue. Going forward, I hope the captor is Not portrayed as righteous. They are clearly a terrible person them self and should be treated as such. Finally, I hope we get a lot of control over Jack's mental state. I would personally love a path where he gets max acceptance and learns humility, but maintains his confidence.

The biggest problems this game has are gameplay and UI related. It is unclear that you must press enter to proceed. This needs to be rectified and mouse controls implemented as well. A Save function and, given how wordy this story is, checkpoints are also essential. The singular choice we are given feels like a false. If it is, or if it just affects a hidden value, it needs to be changed. False choices are condescending as rule, and should never exist.

All in all. a promising, if clunky start. I am interested in where this goes and hopeful it will turn out good.
