Sword & Soul

Welcome to the fantasy lands of Asterin!

You have been tasked with apprehending someone who's obtained a powerful and dangerous artefact before they have chance to use it.
A task that others have so far failed to accomplish.

The artefact is destroyed... but not the power of reality alteration within. Changes are happening. You must find a way to control it, stop it, or even reverse it.

The game is slow burn, with no real adult content.

PC undergoes slight transformation (Full is next update.) One party member undergoes full transformation. (more planned)

I don't claim to be a great writer, or developer. This is my first RPGM project, and I really hope you enjoy! - Atramentia

[Game rating tweaked as per forum suggestion]

You:
A "Crown-Keeper", one of several soliders directly under the King of Empyria's command. When others fail, you are dispatched to get things done.

Rem:
An Inquisitor with a secret, who accompanies the player on their quest, and gets tangled up in the events that unfold.

The Commander:
Your commander. An old-fashioned, no-nonsense veteran who leads the mission to get things done.

The Arcanist:
A future friend who will depend on you to help them adjust.

The Engineer:
A weary traveller looking for a way home to his family.

If there's enough interest, I don't mind putting together a walkthrough. :) None exists currently.

0.3 = First formal release.

An excellent start to an interesting journey. The game has everything you could want from an RPG maker game: Good world-building, interesting characters, exciting plot, great maps/scenery, secrets to find, well written dialogue... I struggle to find anything truly negative to say about it so far.

The combat is above average for an RPG maker game, with all that entails. That may be a negative for some, or positive for others. Your mileage may wary.

The main selling point is the story, and it has me hooked. I want to know what happens.

The game deserves a lot more likes than it currently has.

Good bit of content for an early beta, talking to everyone and exhausting optiong I ended up with just over 5 hours playtime. Plus, that only goes to the what I'll call the second true tg stage (theres a bit of a fakeout one at the start) so while theres definitely a good bit here, theres a lot to look forward to!

This ones got a lot of potential, and is one to watch~

Picked this game up on a whim. Was pleasantly surprised to find that it's rather solid as far as RPG Maker games go. It's decently lengthy; I got about 3 and a half hours of playtime out of it, which I'm satisfied with given that the game is free after all. The anti-frustration features (e.g. warning the player before an upcoming boss fight) are appreciated. I did notice a fair few typos as I went through the game, but they were generally minor, and the game otherwise reads fine. Found myself growing attached to the characters and world already, so props to the author on that.

As far as how explicit the game is, it leans on the safer side. I found no nsfw imagery in my playthrough (or any images at all past the sprites and faces, for that matter), which was fine by me. I'd describe the textual descriptions as lightly ecchi at best. I don't know if there are any "bad" endings that go into more detail since, to be honest, since I was more engrossed with getting to the next story beat, whatever it was, so I never lost a battle (it's not a particularly difficult game if you can do basic strategizing).

I love the more story-driven games that are uploaded on this site, and I am looking forward to future updates of this game!

Amazing. Took me about 4 hours while trying to explore everything. Incredible quality, I've paid for games that felt a lot less refined. The characters, the maps, the world feels alive. Some creators build a game with placeholders or passages with a "will be added in future updates" message. None of that here, the game is complete until the dreaded "to be continued" message appears.

Easily one of the best early version RPGMaker games out there.  Definitely on par with Afterlife and Magical Camp... Story is fantastic and I love the progression mechanics for transformation.  I hope to see MC/M content at some point in the story as I'm confident the writer can build a believable story path to that end...

10/10, You should play this game.
