Forgotten

Title:
Forgotten

Plot:
A young man takes a bet and enters an abandoned girls' school. There, he finds himself trapped by a malevolent force; his memories stolen, and getting pulled into the dark history of this school - in more ways than one.

A light survival horror, tg transformation game.

Contains:
MtF transformations, suggested sexual content, non-concentual entrapment and transformation, minor horror elements. No nudity or explicit sexual content.

Pitch:
• Resident Evil/Alone in the Dark meets the TF Games Site.

Status:
• Finished, but there are sure to be bugs and spelling mistakes that need fixing.

Stats:
• Full 3D, fixed camera game
• Mouse + Keyboard or USB controller compatible
• 15-30 min playtime

Notes:
• I wanted to be able to watch a transformation progress through several different angles, and the cinematic camera style seemed like a perfect fit. And with its blind corners and dramatic angles, survival horror is a great genre for this style.
• I call it "survival horror" because it uses the tropes of the genre, but it's not really scary or hard to survive.
• I learned a lot with this project, AI behavior, level design, saving/loading progress, and especially that writing for this kind of game is very different from writing a Twine game. I spent a lot of time on the story, but I still think it's the weakest element, hope it's not too weak for you!
• To Mac users: As with my other games, I'm sincerely sorry, but this game is currently only for PC. Unreal won't export to Mac without an Apple computer, which I don't currently have access to. I'm trying to find a solution and will get a Mac version up if at all possible!

v1.2.0:

The writing of this game is solid for a tech demo progression from "Changing Room" previously released by the same game maker and fits the (gentle) survival horror game world. Interactivity for this game is solid for the tech demo that it is and as a Resident Evil fan I had zero issues with the tank controls, but you will have to be very careful with the challenges of the fixed camera positioning as it can lead to your character getting pinned and soul drained by the enemies in a bad spot (your character can only survive two hits before you're dead and there is no save game feature, but you can resume the game from where you fall). Graphics used in the game are perfectly fine for this tech demo and give a good spooky horror vibe as you play through, with it being very easy to tell who's an enemy, what items you can pick up and what you can interact with. Music and sound for the game is simple but fits the purpose well. Transformations in the game are MtF progressive and is connected to the items that you pick up: get all 19 to go all the way with the transformation connected to the story world.

For this website, this is an outstanding game for the engine it was made in by a single game maker. The AI of the game (while simplistic) works with the enemies jumping between their "Passive" states and their "Active/Hunting" states while pursuing your character. Just like Capcom's "Haunting Ground" the survival horror element of this game is based around avoiding enemies instead of confronting them, but as a change of pace in Forgotten as you play through this game and find more items you begin to make a "spiritual link" with your helper to gain an exorcism attack that is absolutely needed to complete this game. The final boss of the game while simple with its attack patterns, is a real bastard since any successful hit from its attack has a very high accuracy unless you're constantly moving around.

This is one of the best games at this website and a great successor to what the game maker learnt with "Changing Room."

Strongly recommended. Do not skip this game if you like survival horror, even if the images on this page make the game look simplistic.

A stunningly original and interesting vision, and I cant wait to see this creator get more lewd!

One of the best games on this site, I'd say. For one thing, the fact that it's made in Unreal instead of the typical HTML or RPGM helps it stand out, and while some of the controls can be a bit difficult to negotiate at times, the overall experience is very nice. The premise, while simple, works, and sets up a spooky atmosphere intertwined with plenty of humor. It's all a bit slapstick in the end, but it does wear its horror game conventions well. It's worth noting that, if you're not a fan of jumpscares, I'll spoil now that there aren't any; so don't worry about that.

Anyway, as for it being a TF game, that's where the real meat of the experience is, and it's quite nice. You get to dress up your character in a few different outfits, and you get to watch their actual model change as they slowly transform, bit by bit, into a girl -- the transformation of which is handled very nicely. Too many games dangle the juicy bits behind taking damage or losing fights, while this game puts it behind health pickups which you can take regardless of if you've taken damage or not. This is great design, because it means there is technically a narrative reason to not pick them up, but you also aren't forced to play badly just to see the thing you downloaded the game for.

On that note, the transformation itself is quite nice. I was a bit wary, going into the game, that the final transformation state of the character might be that of just a slim, vaguely-feminine girl, but I was delighted to find that she actually ends up with quite a curvy body. Personally, I wish there was even one more stage of growth for the MC's top and bottom, but that's just me being greedy! If I could offer any criticism at all, I'd say that I wish there was a cut-out window zooming in on the parts of the player's body that change during each little transformation. It can get a bit hard to see, given the game's camera angles, and especially now that the transformations have been made smooth instead of instant.

This is definitely one of those games whose creators I'm keeping an eye of specifically because of how quite-good it is. Give it a shot, even if you're not a horror game fan. It's fun, funny, and pleasantly sexy, too.

Really good. As other reviews said, it's a perfect setting for a TF game, getting gradually changed as you make your way through a haunted school. And it's extremely impressive for both an unusual format, third-person shooter, and for being a complete experience. Highly recommended.

Solid game, and way more ambitious than most of the titles you see on this site. As far as gameplay goes, the given pitch is right on; you're a boy stuck in a haunted school girls' school who has to find a way to defeat the dark presence holding the spirits of the dead--and yourself--prisoner there. To do so, and to learn the truth of what happened before, you need to find objects scattered around the school while avoiding hostile spirits. Each object you pick up will teach you more about what happened, let you pass by the ghosts blocking your progress, and even upgrade your capabilities...while slowly transforming your character into a girl. The gameplay is reminiscent of survival horror titles like Resident Evil and Alone in the Dark, with the fixed camera angles and somewhat clunky movement and combat that comes with them.

It's not a super-long game, though longer than the author's previous Unreal effort, The Changing Room, and has less sexual content. But the atmosphere is excellent, the slow transformation is well-done and the story is reasonably creepy as you discover what's happened before, though the game itself isn't really scary enough to truly be a horror title. Any complaints I could make about the gameplay and controls are frankly dwarfed by the game's ambition and, in truth, they're in keeping with the titles it draws inspiration from, and given the free pass most gamers give to them, it feels unreasonable to pick on a one-person indy title over the same issues.

All in all, I definitely recommend it. It's not as good for fap material as The Changing Room, which I revisit pretty often for that purpose, but for a game that's focused on gameplay while still delivering M2F content, it's really good.
