Aiborae
by autumn

Aiborae is a web-based transformation game created by Autumn M. Winters.

You are Nitorumi Aniyaka, a young member of the timeless race known as the Aiborae. You make your home in Rembrant Colony, spending your days in nigh-eternal bliss, playing with your sisters - especially your best friends Kate Icing and Louise Trebmal. Occasionally there are visitors from outside the Colony, and from time to time a new Aiborae will show up, a sister you hadn't yet met before.

One day, after a late night staying up and counting the stars with nocturnal Louise, a stranger arrives at the mouth of the valley, making her way slowly up along the stream. Somehow, you know that she brings with her momentous news, something that will change your life forever.

It takes only an hour or so, and yet it somehow feels like an eternity, as your sisters all gather in the Colony's meeting square -- at least, all except those who prefer to sleep during the day. The woman, for she's taller and more mature in appearance than any Aiborae, scans through the assembled crowd, and with a wave summons you to her side, dismissing the rest of the gathering with a smile.

She introduces herself as Akemi, though you can hear the unspoken title "Lady". She is one of the Aeternalae, the sister-race of the Aiborae, and in some manner, their protectors and guardians. You spend a while just staring at her, admiring - in particular - her shoulder-length, azure hair - capped with a white bonnet adorned with a golden star and moon brooch.

When you realize that you're staring, you come to -- in the middle of an explanation. "...to start a new colony. I will be taking you to a place called Earth (yes, they're all called that, dear)." She goes on to explain how the Aiborae propagate - by assimilating other sentient beings into their race, a touch-based power that will physically transform others into an Aiborae.
